The colorful Zen Garden at Evelyn’s House, BJC’s hospice house, is a special place within a special place. Filled with rocks painted as tributes, it is a place to honor and cherish the memories of those who have spent their last days at Evelyn’s House.

The Knowlton Incentive for Excellence award recognizes resident physicians who have demonstrated the ability to balance exceptional, compassionate care with outstanding leadership and skill in internal medicine. More than 200 residents and fellows have been recognized since the Knowlton Incentive for Excellence Awards began.

A generous gift from Healthy Blue Missouri to the Foundation will support BJC’s Community Health Improvement initiatives to eliminate infant and maternal health disparities. This gift makes it possible to host free community baby showers, train clinical care teams, and expand access to perinatal education.

Regardless of the circumstances that bring patients to Barnes-Jewish Hospital, each is deserving of extraordinary care. On June 11, BJC HealthCare marked a significant milestone for the Barnes-Jewish Hospital campus renewal project with the Plaza West Tower topping out ceremony.

The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital is proud to announce the distribution of $324,000 to 11 nonprofit organizations this August through the Community Support Grants Program.

Stephanie M. Perkins, MD, accomplished expert in pediatric and proton radiation, has been named the S. Lee Kling Endowed Chair in Radiation Oncology at The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital. As director of the S. Lee Kling Proton Therapy Center at Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center over the last four years, her many achievements have cemented her position as a national leader dedicated to improving patient outcomes and advancing the proton therapy field.

The Foundation plays a crucial role in providing educational opportunities, nursing scholarships, endowed chairs, mentorship programs, and more with the help of generous donors.

In its milestone 15th year, we are pleased to announce that the Cancer Frontier Fund at The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital recently funded six new projects through the Siteman Investment Program, a research grant program at Siteman. These projects include research focused on breast and ovarian cancer development, chemoradiation therapy for cervical cancer, immunotherapy for leukemia, and enhancing the well-being of family caregivers of cancer hospice patients.
