Alex S. Evers, MD, a leading anesthesiology physician-scientist, educator and visionary leader, is the recipient of the 2019 President’s Achievement Award given by The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital.  The award was announced Dec. 10 at the Foundation’s annual event to honor clinical and faculty partners.

National palliative care expert Patrick White, MD, was installed on Nov. 18, as The Stokes Family Endowed Chair in Palliative Medicine and Supportive Care. Dr. White is the chief medical officer of BJC Home Care and Hospice and leads Evelyn’s House, the adult and pediatric hospice house located on the campus of Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital.

Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College has received an unprecedented gift that will provide, annually, a full scholarship to an Alton High School student or graduate pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
