The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital has awarded the 2021 President’s Achievement Award to David M. Holtzman, MD.  The award is given to a physician or faculty partner whose distinct and extraordinary accomplishments are advancing medicine, ensuring the delivery of world class patient care, and educating the next generation of clinicians.

Eleven Washington University School of Medicine physicians at Barnes-Jewish Hospital were recently honored with 2021 Knowlton Incentive for Excellence Awards that recognize and support medical residents who exemplify a compassionate spirit combined with outstanding knowledge and skill.

Objective: To enable use of clinical magnetic resonance images (MRIs) to quantify abnormalities in normal appearing (NA) white matter (WM) and gray matter (GM) in multiple sclerosis (MS) and to determine associations with MS-related disability. Identification of these abnormalities heretofore has required specialized scans not routinely available in clinical practice.
