BJC Health Employee Assistance Fund
The BJC Employee Emergency Assistance Fund has awarded $2,791,650 in grants to 4,467 employees facing financial emergencies between 2020 and May 2026. Providing exceptional patient care is only possible when the needs of the employees are also met.
This fund, held at The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, launched in 2020 thanks to pooled resources from several community donors who cared deeply for BJC Health caregivers and staff. Many employees also make gifts to the fund by making donations throughout the year or by donating the cost of a BJC gift when given the opportunity.
The BJC Employee Emergency Assistance Fund supports employees across BJC Health, both the East and West regions, who are experiencing financial hardships that impact basic living needs by awarding one-time grants with no repayment required. Full-time employees may apply for up to $1,000, and part-time employees may apply for up to $500 in assistance. The BJC Employee Emergency Assistance Fund Committee reviews applications on a rolling basis based on an objective determination of need.
Generous donors both from the community and BJC make it possible to support BJC employees during times of crisis. Make a gift to the BJC Employee Emergency Assistance Fund in support of the extraordinary caregivers at BJC or learn how to apply for employee financial assistance grants.
