Nine Local Nonprofits Receive Community Support Grants From the Foundation

Nine organizations working to address critical health challenges in the St. Louis community will receive $338,765 in funding through The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital’s Community Support Grants Program.
The Foundation is committed to investing in the organizations that support the health of our community and is proud to partner with the following organizations to build healthier and brighter futures for our neighbors in the community:
Memory Care Home Solutions
Grant funding will help support Memory Care Home Solutions to improve quality of life for people living with dementia by providing home-based services that strengthen families’ abilities to manage dementia progression.
Nurses for Newborns
The Foundation grant will support Nurses for Newborns’ comprehensive in-home nurse visiting services to increase access to health care, parenting education, and connections to critical community resources for new families.
St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness
Funds will help St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness expand programming to address proper nutrition for those in treatment for ovarian cancer as well as to provide peer support.
St. Patrick Center
With this grant, St. Patrick Center will increase health care services to individuals and families who face severe barriers to housing, health, and financial stability.
Food Outreach
Grant funding for Food Outreach will address nutritional barriers to health for those diagnosed with cancer by providing and delivering free medically tailored meals.
HavenHouse St. Louis
Foundation support will help HavenHouse continue to provide safe, affordable lodging and supportive services for patients, families, and caregivers traveling to St. Louis for medical treatment at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Siteman Cancer Center.
Health Literacy Ministry
Foundation funding will help Health Literacy Ministry provide oral nutritional supplements, blood pressure monitors, weight scales, and other supplies to keep seniors proactive in managing their health.
Our Lady’s Inn
With this grant, Our Lady’s Inn will provide perinatal nursing care, education, training, advocacy, and other resources to unhoused pregnant women and their children to achieve the best possible health and birth outcomes.
Safe Connections
Funding from the Foundation will assist Safe Connections in providing trauma-informed counseling and support services as a critical tool for adult survivors of relationship violence.
