Jean Driscoll Named Executive Director of Philanthropy for The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital

Jean Driscoll, an accomplished fundraising leader with more than 20 years of advancement experience, has been named executive director of philanthropy for The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Driscoll joins the Foundation from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she served as assistant dean for advancement in the College of Applied Health Sciences. During her tenure, she helped lead fundraising efforts that contributed to a record $48.8 million for the college. Her career includes advancement leadership roles at North Carolina State University and the University of Illinois, where she built successful fundraising programs and led teams focused on major and principal gifts.

As executive director of philanthropy, Driscoll will work closely with donors, volunteers, clinicians, and colleagues across BJC HealthCare to inspire charitable investments that support exceptional patient care, fuel innovation, and improve health outcomes at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and throughout the region.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Driscoll is widely recognized for her achievements as an athlete. An eight-time Boston Marathon champion, two-time Olympic silver medalist, and 12-time Paralympic medalist, she was inducted into the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Hall of Fame in 2012. Her commitment to excellence, perseverance, and service has been a hallmark of both her athletic and professional careers.
