The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital’s mission is to help donors enrich lives, save lives and transform health care through charitable gifts, and we’re here to support our frontline team now more than ever.

Did you know…

  • The Foundation is actively supporting Barnes-Jewish Hospital and BJC HealthCare in our system’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Healthy Future Fund (Area of Greatest Need) makes it possible for the Foundation to help address the priority health needs of our community, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • With donor support, the Foundation is able to fund projects that identify better testing methods for COVID-19, provide enhanced patient care and caregiver protection, and accelerate research to create a vaccine to protect against this novel virus.

  • The Foundation is in coordination with BJC Supply Chain and Incident Command to facilitate supply and food donations for our frontline team.

  • In 2019, the Foundation raised $22.6 million from more than 5,000 donors throughout the world. We granted out a total of $61.5 million to BJC HealthCare, Washington University School of Medicine and community organizations.

  • Through the generosity of our donors, we’re able to support…

    • Community outreach programs, including free flu shots annually for people all over the St. Louis area

    • Patient care services for patients at Barnes-Jewish Hospital who need financial assistance

    • Scholarships for nursing students at Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College

    • Hospice program support for patients and families at Evelyn’s House, BJC Home Care and BJC Hospice  

    • Vital research at Washington University School of Medicine that leads to treatment breakthroughs in cancer, heart & vascular, organ transplant, neurosciences and more
